“Vande Vishnu” is a tribute concert dedicated to the memory of two legendary figures in Indian classical music: Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar and Pt. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande. Fondly known as the “Two Vishnus” within the music fraternity, they were pioneers in documenting music theory and establishing schools to promote Indian classical music, helping to transition music from an oral tradition to a structured, accessible discipline.
At Sangeetalaya, we celebrate the contributions of these stalwarts by organizing a concert that showcases both junior and senior artists, offering musical tributes. Last year, on October 28, 2023, we were honored to have Pt. Jayateerth Mevundi perform at this special event.
This annual concert continues to uphold the legacy of the “Two Vishnus,” honoring their monumental contributions to Indian classical music.
